The Regional Delegates ‘Meet and Share’
On Monday, 8th September evening, a meeting was held for the Regional Delegates, facilitated by Dom Roberto de la Iglesia Perez. The purpose of the gathering was to provide a space for delegates to introduce themselves and share their personal experiences of the Chapter thus far. It was a moment of fraternal listening and mutual recognition. Delegates shared openly about the atmosphere in the General Chapter; work in Aula and within the Commissions.
A strong sense of unity and cooperation emerged, with many describing the experience in General Chapter as one of mutual support—like a family living out the spirit of the Carta Caritatis. The daily rhythm of the Chapter was acknowledged as intense and demanding, yet marked by attentiveness and care for each member of the Order.
Reflections highlighted the transparency and compassion present throughout the Chapter. The collaboration between male and female communities was seen as a powerful sign of unity. Superiors were recognized not only for their leadership but also for their example of life, their openness to show vulnerability, and their willingness to receive support.
The sharing revealed how deeply enriching the General Chapter has been for many. Delegates described it as an experience of universality, where burdens and joys are shared across communities. Listening to others’ perspectives continues to offer new insights and deepen understanding.
A strong sense of synodality is felt throughout the Chapter. The General Chapter is seen not only as a celebration for those present, but as a moment of significance for all monks and nuns of our Order. Communities are viewed collectively, with a shared sense of responsibility and concern.
Themes of simplicity, openness, and transparency continue to resonate. Delegates have expressed appreciation for the honesty and gentleness shown during the meetings. Charity is felt tangibly, and there is a sincere desire to support one another in faith.
As the General Chapter continues, the Order appears to be living a moment of profound transformation. The experience in the Aula and the Commissions reveals not only the weight of responsibility carried in faith, but also a spirit of openness, vulnerability, and shared compassion. There is hope that the insights and decisions emerging from this Chapter will strengthen the bonds between communities and guide the Order forward with renewed clarity, wisdom, and grace.
